About the Health Center Excellence Academy

The Health Center Excellence Academy: Accelerated Learning by Renaye James Healthcare Advisors is the training division of Renaye James Healthcare Advisors. The academy provides training, technical assistance, and tools to implement data-driven and team-based approaches for health centers and healthcare teams as they work to improve the clinical quality and patient safety of their patients and the communities they serve. Renaye James Healthcare Advisors is a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) National Training and Technical Assistance Partners (NTTAP) award recipient. Training activities are tailored specifically for the needs of federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) and FQHC look-alikes.

Our Training Objectives

Thursday, April 25, 2024 | Noon ET

This training will reinforce the value of having all employees, from frontline staff to management and executive leadership, receive foundational instruction and training in four areas. Participants will learn to design a core training curriculum incorporating skills and practices including: Patient-centered care, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and de-escalation.

Diabetes Care Management: The Right Way, Part 1

This webinar will review how to build a collaborative model to manage patients with diabetes. The information will help health centers build relationships with their patients to have a positive care management and care coordination experience since care management is used to improve patient care, quality, and health outcomes. The Patient-Centered Medical Model sets expectations that healthcare organizations use care management to help patients develop and meet treatment plan goals. 

Approaches to Behavioral Health Screening

Publication / Resource Document

This resource document will provide current evidence-based behavior health screening tools and details who can administer them, under what setting, their use with special populations (non-verbal, limited English proficiency), and how to interpret results. This resource document is intended to help inform healthcare staff of the utility of behavioral health screenings so that they can become more prevalent and provide early intervention to substance use and mental health needs.

Maternal Health and Essential Community Connections
