About the Health Center Excellence Academy

The Health Center Excellence Academy: Accelerated Learning by Renaye James Healthcare Advisors is the training division of Renaye James Healthcare Advisors. The academy provides training, technical assistance, and tools to implement data-driven and team-based approaches for health centers and healthcare teams as they work to improve the clinical quality and patient safety of their patients and the communities they serve. Renaye James Healthcare Advisors is a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) National Training and Technical Assistance Partners (NTTAP) award recipient. Training activities are tailored specifically for the needs of federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) and FQHC look-alikes.

Approaches to Behavioral Health Screening

Publication / Resource Document

This resource document will provide current evidence-based behavior health screening tools and details who can administer them, under what setting, their use with special populations (non-verbal, limited English proficiency), and how to interpret results. This resource document is intended to help inform healthcare staff of the utility of behavioral health screenings so that they can become more prevalent and provide early intervention to substance use and mental health needs.

Maternal Health and Essential Community Connections

This webinar will discuss how to connect with local hospitals, obstetrics practices, health departments, and social service agencies to improve access to maternal health services in rural and urban communities.

Diabetes Care Management: The Right Way, Part 2

After understanding the roles and responsibilities of health center staff in care management, this session will focus on the tools required to document longitudinal care management activities. The session speakers will review two (2) common electronic health record systems and provide details on how to document care plans and care management activities that meet Patient-Centered Medical Home standards.

Post-Partum Connections and Education

Wednesday, June 12, 2024 | noon ET

This webinar will provide an overview of postpartum care coordination and education as an effective intervention for improving maternal and infant health. The webinar will discuss evidence-based home visiting models, connection to and establishment of a primary care medical home, and health insurance coverage. Participants will learn about the importance of postpartum education for infant safe sleep, family planning, and chronic and behavioral health issues.
