Christopher DeMarco, PhD, MBA, Senior Advisor, Strategy and Operations, combines his healthcare, business, and scientific backgrounds to improve the strategic management and operations of healthcare organizations. He provides strategic consulting and research to clients based on methodical research that leads to sound market intelligence and actionable market insight analysis.

He works with clients on a wide variety of business planning, strategy, information technology, grant writing, research, and marketing initiatives for for-profit and non-profit clients and has led the research division of a strategy consulting firm.

Before becoming a healthcare consultant, Chris had 20 years of medical, behavioral, and mental health experience. He has led ambulatory care operations and managed strategic partnerships between hospitals and government agencies. Chris also has a decade of experience working in and another decade consulting for Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). He has worked with dozens of FQHCs around the country, written HRSA grants garnering tens of millions of dollars, and assisted non-profit organizations to become FQHCs. He brings significant for-profit healthcare client experience to the table.

His latest white paper (with co-author Travis Moon) released in September 2018 is entitled, “A vision for tomorrow: FQHC leaders see six ways to grow the business and protect the mission.” He authored a national survey of FQHC CEOs in 2017.

He is on the boards of Baltimore Medical System and Baltimore-based Behavioral Health Leadership Institute (BHLI), a substance use treatment provider. He also serves as a Principal at Sage Growth Partners, a healthcare consulting firm.
