Senior Advisor, Project Management & Process Improvement

Chinue is a Master Black Belt and an Operations Management Associate Professor. She has 20 years’ experience in process improvement, project management, and strategy. She began her career as a Chemical Engineer at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, Illinois. At Abbott Laboratories, she held various engineering and leadership positions, such as Process Engineer, Project Manager, Production Supervisor, and Operations Manager. In 2005, she joined GE Healthcare (GEHC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as a Manufacturing Manager. At GEHC, she led a team of 50 employees and served as the site’s Standard Work Team leader. In 2009, she formed LPI Consultants and successfully led initiatives across the Americas, Australia, China, Europe, and Japan.

In 2011, her career and love for the outdoors took her and her family to St. Thomas, USVI, where she worked for International Capital Management Company. She has served as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Strategy Manager, Manager of Knowledge Management, and Program Manager. She trained/mentored 45 Green Belts and co-facilitated various process improvement events; supported executive teams to facilitate operational planning; and managed an enterprise cross-functional team to fully deploy an integrated patient empowered care model across five hospitals, resulting in $700,000 in cost savings.

Since obtaining her doctorate, she has taught process improvement courses at the University of the Virgin Islands, supported a healthcare system in developing a telehealth presence within the United States, and facilitated strategic planning sessions for senior executive teams focused on improving quality and reducing cost.

She has a BA in Chemistry from the University of Chicago, a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, an MBA from Marquette University, and a DBA from Walden University with a specialization in Healthcare Management. Her dissertation focused on exploring financial strategies and initiatives for preventing rural hospital closure. She is a certified Master Black Belt and Strategic Planning Professional. Additionally, she serves as the Chief Volunteer Officer for the Boys and Girls Club of St. Thomas/St. John, Secretary for the Association for Strategic Planning, and co-lead for ASP’s Women in Strategy Community of Practice.
